Tell us about when you first began singing or picked up an instrument. When did it first hit you that you loved music?
I have always sang around my house and been in love with music. I remember begging my parents for a guitar in second grade and that's where it all began. It's always been my way of expressing myself and feeling true, pure emotions.
What was the first song you’ve ever written? What was it about, and what prompted you to write it?
The first song I wrote and recorded was called Feel This Way. It was just a fun little pop song about having a crush. Middle school problems, am I right?
Is all of your music pulled from personal experience, or do you ever borrow from the experiences of others?
When do you feel the most inspired to create?
Which musicians do you admire most? Do any of them influence your music, and if so, how?
Growing up, Taylor Swift was a huge inspiration to me. I loved how her lyrics were so relatable and so honest. They spoke to you, no matter what experiences you have been through.
With over a million views on YouTube, your song “Anchor” has experienced tremendous success. What does that song mean to you?
It means so much to me. It's so empowering and represents such a important message. I spent so much time perfecting it and making sure the video was exactly what I had dreamed it would be.
What is your personal favorite off of your EP “Overthinking,” and why?
If you couldn’t make music, what would you dedicate your life to?
Probably baking. I love making people feel good. Besides music, nothing makes you feel better than eating a sweet dessert :)
What is the most life-changing album we should all listen to? Why do you love it?
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you that you wish they did?
That I want to not just make music, but help people through life. They are not just songs to me — it’s all so much more than that.
What advice do you have for young people that wish they could do what you’ve done, but are too afraid to put themselves out there? How do you replace fear with adrenaline and confidence?
Tell us your favorite lyric 1) that you’ve written, and 2) of all time.
When can we look forward to brand new music from you?
